Singtrix Party Bundle Review

Recently we were lucky enough to test and review the Singtrix Party Bundle at one of my wife’s colleague’s parties. The Singtrix was created by the same team that created Guitar Hero so you know the goal was to create a pop culture music product and they might have succeeded. The Singtrix Party Bundle was also featured on Shark Tank so it garnered a lot of attention even before it was released to the public.

Since it was on Shark Tank I was skeptical at first since most things in my experience that are on tv aren’t the best quality.  I will admit though I was pretty excited to try it out though since I had also heard the creators of Guitar Hero also created the Singtrix and boy did I love Guitar Hero.  Well that’s enough blabbing let’s get to the review.

Features

SINGTRIX STUDIOS

Singtrix claims it’s machine uses the same vocal technology the professionals use which will make you sound amazing.  They also state this karaoke machine was designed to sound like a recording studio but make it feel like a concert.

Their technology has effects that include sound pitch correction, hard-tune which is similar to auto-tune, powerful harmony and choir effects, reverb, delay and many more over 300 to be exact.  Also comes equipped with three skill levels beginner, intermediate, and Pro and has voice cancellation technology that lowers vocals on the music that you play.

This karaoke system is meant to be a simple plug and play design.  Just play a song, start singing, use the effects dial to use more than 300 effects covering every genre and generation of music.

HIT EFFECT

All bundles come with a high quality custom microphone which enables voice effects at the push of a button.  This microphone is corded with the cord length around 12 ft.

According to Singtrix this will instantly transform your voice into a harmony super group.  It transforms your voice to sounding like you have live back-up singers.  To enable this feature you just press on HIT effect button located on the included microphone.

A mic stand with boom arm and device holder also come with this bundle.

This unit can accommodate two microphones.  The second mic will have to be purchased separately.

2.1 MULTIMEDIA SPEAKER

The Singtrix Party Bundle also comes equipped with a custom designed Stereo PA that packs 40 watts of sound into a portable design.  There is a built-in subwoofer so you can use it for a home theater setup or a gaming speaker also.

The multimedia speaker has 3 knobs on the front of the unit so you can easily control the volume, bass, and tremble.

If you are using the Singtrix in a large venue, you can easily connect two speakers together, connect to a high powered PA system, headphones or any combination of them.

Music Sources

According to Singtrix this karaoke system works great with YouTube and Karaoke and lyric videos.  Also compatible with your smart phone, tablet, computer, and even musical instruments such as guitar and keyboard.

You can use your own song libraries, playlists, karaoke tracks and favorite karaoke apps as your source for musical content.  Just connect to the headphone output of your music device, starting playing the song of choice and start singing.

Audio Quality

In my opinion the included 40 watt 2.1 MULTIMEDIA SPEAKER put out decent sound.  The speaker is plenty loud and is able to handle the whole spectrum of notes from lows to highs while delivering decent bass.  Really not too much to complain about sound wise.

One thing to keep in mind is this unit is meant for a room in the house and I can see people having issues if using in a large outdoor space.  If you plan on using in a larger venue consider buying an additional Singtrix multimedia speaker or compatible speaker such as the JBL EON610.

Vocal Effects

I only used this product a few times but the few times I used it the vocal effects were adequate in my opinion.  I have used tons of karaoke equipment so I have realistic expectations.  If you are a horrible singer this karaoke machine will not make you sound like Celine Dion.  What it does in my opinion is slightly improve the vocals when using the auto-tune feature.

With that said the voice effects in my opinion were a bit overkill.  With over 300 options experimenting with all of them can be time consuming and can interrupt the performance.  I do have to admit it can be fun and entertaining but could be irritating to some people.

Overall I would say the vocal effects are top notch for a home karaoke system but is not close to a professional studio.  Playing around with some of the voice effects was fun I have to admit but some people may find it annoying as everyone is different.

What Consumers Say

Reviews are pretty positive with most consumers.  Almost everyone agreed that this karaoke machine system was great fun and great for parties and family gatherings.  The majority were satisfied with the voice correction, voice effects, and overall quality of the sound from the system.  Most even thought the Singtrix Party bundle was even built with quality in mind.

Some downsides that consumers stated were mostly related to quality or missing parts.  There are quite a few customers who received either damaged product or product that was missing certain items.  I don’t know if this is due to manufacturing or the handling of the product from the retail stores.  Also some consumers were also overwhelmed and not too impressed by the many voice effects available.  I would have to say that besides damaged or missing product most of the complaints came from people who were expecting features that this model is not designed to have in the first place.

Overall Impression

My overall impression of the Singtrix #SGTX1 is karaoke system is a lot of fun.  It is great for family and friend events and it seems like it would be easy to transport if necessary.  Keep in mind I only used the device on two occasions but to me the system seemed sturdy and of good build.

The sound was crisp and bass was ok.  I would suggest connecting to a larger speaker if using in a large space outdoors.  Should be be fine in most indoor rooms unless the room is of massive in size.

Claims that this will make you a great singer are exaggerated.  With the auto-tune it does help improve vocals. Don’t get me wrong though it will not let a horrible singer sound like a good singer.  More like it will turn a horrible singer into a tolerable one.

In my opinion the App that comes with the Singtrix is not very much use.  We used mainly YouTube  and it worked great.  I would suggest strongly not to buy the music from the Singtrix App since it’s not the best of quality and you can get most music for free from YouTube.

Final Words

With all of that being said, the Singtrix SGTX1 Karaoke System is one of the best home all-in-one karaoke machine/speaker system that I have used.  Although this machine can’t compete sound wise with a karaoke system pieced together with quality components or the sound produced by a professional studio it has it’s benefits.  Most consumers want a nice sounding system with good build quality, easy to setup, and portable.  The Singtrix hits all these while including voice correction, voice effects, and the ability to easily use other devices to play the music.

The Singtrix Party Bundle is a fantastic product. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is even contemplating buying it.
